About

The term "Art" possesses an inherent allure that is often underestimated; many fail to recognize the courage required for an artist to share their work with others.
I firmly believe in distinguishing between the act of creating art and the physical manifestation of art, whether it be through painting, sculpture, or any other medium.

My exploration across various mediums has been extensive. In 2004, I delved into a year-long experiment with black and white canvases, focusing on composition as a collective series, each piece carrying individual titles while the concept served as a secondary boundary. I also ventured into minimal shades for certain series, challenging myself with the treatment of large canvases using only two colors.

My practice with watercolors centers on achieving mastery over the medium by exploring its sensitive nuances and their impact on perception and meaning. Through watercolors, I investigate how delicate and whimsical flows alter our perception of representation and give rise to new experiential categories. Additionally, I have honed my skills in etching, lithography, and woodcuts, even working on gramophone record plates, transforming them into referable records for artists and symbolically linking them with the word 'record.'

Objects in my work serve primarily as interactive spaces, prompting my fascination with painting objects resembling machinery and exploring technical interests in machines and mechanical components, which manifest as forms, shapes, dimensions, and varying levels and depths. Notably, technology serves as a reference point, aiming to redefine art alongside forms and elegance.

In 2006, I embarked on the concept titled "From Gravity to Grace," which examines the differences and psychological relations between real and non-real perceptions, objects, or visual forms, transitioning their psychological character to grace visually. This idea extends into three-dimensional works.

In another series titled "Smoke," I reinterpret the transparency of 'life and death,' positing that both stages are inherently the same, with death being synonymous with rebirth. This series embodies minimal forms, shapes, outlines, and transparent qualities, juxtaposed with dark, sharp, and weighty appearances.

From my perspective, certain ideas persist and are continually reimagined, engaging with new concepts, methods, and perceptions. Work, for me, is a process rather than a mere activity; it demands an awareness of one's surroundings, sensations, and evolution over time. I find myself transformed between the previous year's work and my current endeavors, feeling more alive and invigorated by certain pieces. My studio practice and research serve as platforms to give flight to my thoughts, intertwining intelligence and grace, propelling me towards new series.

Ultimately, I view the contemporary art landscape as both alluring and crowded, brimming with joy and political commentary yet inherently limited. It is my belief that artists bear a responsibility to themselves to navigate this landscape with integrity.

Magazine Series

Our existence is a tapestry woven with myriad visuals, captivating the human mind in diverse forms. From the moment we grasp a newspaper, our eyes instinctively seek out the imagery, drawn to photographs and illustrations before delving into the text. This inclination likely stems from our earliest childhood experiences, where we first identify objects through images before comprehending the corresponding letters or words. For instance, learning the letter ‘A’ often begins with recognizing an apple as an object before associating it with the letter itself.

This intriguing relationship between our minds and the realm of text and visuals serves as the inspiration behind my Magazine Series. Magazines, issued weekly or monthly, are crafted with distinct features: compact pages, bold headlines, vibrant colors, abundant photographs, concise articles, and captivating human interest stories. They offer a more immersive experience than daily newspapers, printed on superior paper and delving deeper into specialized topics, requiring a heightened level of education to fully appreciate.

Print media, including newspapers, magazines, comics, books, and brochures, serves as a tangible conduit for disseminating information. Behind these mediums lie organizations such as television stations and publishing companies, shaping the narrative and influencing public perception.

With the Magazine Series, I endeavor to transcend this phenomenon into the realm of art, exploring the multifaceted dimensions of popular media and its impact on the human psyche. Media plays a pivotal role in shaping societal norms and values, often blurring the lines between informative journalism and entertainment. This shift has sparked debates on journalistic responsibility, fueled by commercial pressures and audience preferences for light-hearted content over substantive issues.

Publishing and public relations intersect in the dissemination of information, shaping public discourse and perceptions. A robust media system, rooted in integrity and accountability, serves as a cornerstone of democracy, empowering citizens with knowledge and fostering informed decision-making.

My artistic focus extends to critical social issues spanning environmental crises, global concerns, rural challenges, and human impacts on nature. By leveraging the cover pages of magazines, I aim to initiate a nuanced dialogue, juxtaposing photographic reflections with subtle critiques of mass commercialization and graphic language.

The realization of this vision involves meticulous editing, composition, and photography, employing digital tools such as Photoshop CS5, CorelDrawX4, and Microsoft Office. Drawing from various web resources, including Google's search engine, this endeavor encapsulates my artistic journey and socio-cultural commentary.
